Our research focuses on understanding the causes of the most severe conditions that affect the development of the human brain because not everybody with a developmental brain condition is affected in the same way. For instance, many autistic people have completely normal lives and require no treatment whatsoever. However, many other children and adults with a neurodevelopmental disorder require a continuous support and new treatments would substantially improve their quality of life. They are at the heart of our research.
Broadly speaking, developmental brain disorders can be divided into early-onset and late-onset categories based on when symptoms are first observed. Follow the links on this page to learn more about these conditions.
