I got a BA and a Master in Biotechnology at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome, Italy (my hometown). I then moved to the lab of Juan Valcarcèl at the CRG in Barcelona for my PhD, where i carried out two projects devoted to understanding the role of chromatin structure in alternative splicing regulation.

I joined Eugene Makeyev's lab in October 2015, and here I am studying functions of alternative splicing coupled to nonsense-mediated decay in neurogenesis.
