Sadra Sadeh joins CDN as new group leader

11/02/25

The CDN is delighted to welcome Dr Sadra Sadeh, a Wellcome Trust Career Development Fellow, to its faculty. Sadra joins us from Imperial College London where he started his group, the Computational Lab of Neural Dynamics.

Dr Sadeh, who holds a parallel secondment post at The Francis Crick Institute, did his PhD in Computational Neuroscience at the Bernstein Centre Freiburg, University of Freiburg, Germany. He moved to London for his postdoctoral research at University College London, and Imperial College London. Sadra joins the CDN as part of King’s major investment in talent, education, and research in interdisciplinary science. His skills and expertise sit at the disciplinary interface between neuroscience and computation and create exciting opportunities for novel work and collaborations.

His research focuses on developing biologically-informed computational models of neural circuits and computational tools for the analysis of large-scale neural data. The brain comprises complex networks of neurons, essential for its adaptive and versatile functionality. Precisely how these neuronal networks communicate with each other and self-organise to give rise to the rich repertoire of neural dynamics observed in the brain is not yet clear. Sadra and his lab approach this problem through data-constrained computational modelling and theoretical analysis of large-scale neuronal networks. Their aim is to reveal the fundamental mechanisms underlying brain function in both health and divergent development through computational models of neural circuits and the analysis of neural activity.

Dr. Sadeh’s expertise in computational neuroscience is a welcome addition to our scientific diversity, allowing exciting new work and collaborations. To find out more about Sadra and his lab’s work, visit the Sadeh Lab website.
