6th EMBO Course

07/07/19

In July (7th – 20th) 2019, the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology will host the 6th EMBO Practical Course: Developmental Neurobiology: from Worms to Mammals .

Students on this EMBO Practical Course will learn cutting-edge techniques to work across the different stages of neural development from neural induction to circuit formation and plasticity. Students will develop in-depth knowledge of experimental approaches in six model species (C. elegans, chick, Drosophila, mouse, Xenopus and zebrafish) as well as in vitro work. Working closely with international leaders in the field, students will gain knowledge, gather advice and learn techniques, priming the next generation of leading researchers in developmental neurobiology.

Each day there will be two or three practical sessions delivered in small groups, followed by a seminar at the end of the day given by some of the most eminent researchers in the field. Students will need to bring a research poster, which will be presented and exhibited throughout the course. Prizes will be awarded to the best posters.

The full schedule and further information are available on the website in addition to information about travel grants.
