Stem cells and neural circuit engineering

Ivo is involved both in undergraduate and postgraduate education at King’s. He teaches in several undergraduate modules in the fields of developmental neuroscience, stem cell biology and genetics, and is the module organiser for the 3rd year Experimental Anatomy laboratory projects. He supports PhD research training as a steering committee member of the Wellcome Trust ‘Advanced Cell Therapies and Regenerative Medicine’ PhD Programme and serves as the Postgraduate Coordinator at the Centre for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. He is also an active PhD and Masters supervisor and currently trains five PhD students in his group. The students study neuromuscular circuitry with iPSC-models in vitro or develop stem cell-based therapies for neurological conditions.
