I am the Departmental Education Lead for the CDN and responsible for anatomy teaching across Medicine, Dentistry and Biosciences including leading the BSc in Anatomy, Developmental and Human Biology. I co-lead two innovative, interdisciplinary modules for second year students, Synthetic Anatomy (with Mandeep Sagoo and Kawal Rhode) and Communicating Science (with Ivor Mason). I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with a research interest in the distinctiveness of researcher-led teaching in science higher education.
My current passion in teaching is in getting away from lectures entirely at undergraduate level and engaging with fundamental understanding through creative approaches to science.
