The potential of anatomical and functional neuroimaging strategies to capture a rich array of spatial and temporal information are evident, but quantitative assessment of imaging datasets is not always so obvious. In the CDN, we are actively embracing objective quantitative approaches to neuroimaging analysis. We have developed in-house software for various applications that extend or complement alternative approaches and software available from the wider brain mapping community. In particular, we have specialist knowledge of pre-processing and analysis of functional imaging data from various calcium-indicators within several model systems. Further, we are championing the use of standardised spaces to enable data pooling and systems-based approaches to derive the form, organisation and meaning within vast amounts of anatomical and functional imaging data.
